Below is a recipe of a kadha made with Indian spices - turmeric, holy basil, lemon grass, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper - easily available in the kitchen to help you build your immunity. Kadha is an ayurvedic drink prepared with several herbs and spices boiled in water. Kadha is a homemade ayurvedic wonder made in Indian households for ages and is frequently recommended by our wise ancestors as the ultimate home remedy for cough, cold, sore throat and even fever. This natural medicine is recommended for helping you build immunity to fight off covid infection. The ingredients that make up Kadha, are also traditionally used to fighting existing cough and cold besides boosting immunity.
Ingredients for Kadha
1 litre of water
Few Holy Basil leaves (optional) (Tulsi)
1/2 teaspoon of fresh Ginger (Aleacho)
1/2 teaspoon of fresh Turmeric or turmeric powder (if fresh turmeric is not available) (Oldicho pito)
2-3 Peppercorns (Miriam)
1 Clove (Kalafuram)
1 Cinnamon stick (Tiki)
2 Cardamom (Elchi)
Few leaves of Lemon Grass (Ganjan)
Little Coconut Jaggery (Maddachem Godd)
1 Lemon (Limbu) - squeeze the lemon contents
HOW TO PREPARE KADHA
Step 1: Add hot water in a pan.
Step 2: Add above ingredients to the boiling pan.
Step 3: Cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes.
Step 4: Strain the mixture in glass and drizzle few drops of honey (optional) before drinking.
Step 5: Serve immediately.
Prepare this mixture fresh every time you consume. This preparation must be consumed twice daily on empty stomach i.e. before breakfast and before dinner.
